Kazakhstan begins exporting gasoline to Tajikistan

Caravanserai

NUR-SULTAN -- Kazakhstan began supplying gasoline to Tajikistan in July, AKIpress reported, citing Kazakh Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbayev.

"We've begun exporting to Tajikistan, about 20,000 tonnes a month," he said in Nur-Sultan Tuesday (August 13), according to Vlast.kz.

Kazakhstan earlier said it could export up to 30,000 tonnes of gasoline in July to Tajikistan if the two countries reached agreement. It is working on deals with Kyrgyzstan and Belarus.

Kazakhstan has periodically sought to stabilise poorer countries in the region. Earlier in 2019, it held talks on possible oil production in Afghanistan.

They will start supplying gasoline to Kyrgyzstan as well; now they have Russian [fuel], which is very costly and substandard. Thanks Kazakhs!
